SEASON TWO PREMIERE – Tension builds among the disciples as they wrestle with the increasing fame of Jesus (Jonathan Roumie) in Samaria. Jesus rebukes Big James (Abe Bueno-Jallad) and John (George H. Xanthis) for their prejudice and, after a near-violent encounter, gives them a new nickname (#201). Meanwhile, Pop (Malcolm McDowell) turns to Mary (Claire Rankin) for help after the CRA learns he’s been collecting his dead wife’s pension checks (#109). BOLD & BOOZY – Madison (Sarah Meacham) reaches out to Vince (Ioane Saula) after she and her dad are kicked out of their apartment. Although Vince is eager to help, his attempts to understand Madison’s situation or how it is affecting her are blocked. Vince shares the problem with Reema (Safia Arain), but Reema is suspicious and jealous. Rosa (Paula Garcia) has a makeover and boozy dinner with a friend, who encourages Rosa to leave Matias (Ricardo Scheihing-Vasuez). A drunk Rosa lets off some steam, even more than she normally would, inspiring her to return home and give Matias an ultimatum. Dom (Angus Sampson) goes on a health kick in an attempt to bounce back from being ghosted for the first time (#207).  Original airdate 9/11/2023.

SERIES PREMIERE – Charlie Wagner (Leonie Benesch), a young marine biologist, is sent to a lonely outpost in the Shetland Islands. During a survey, Charlie discovers large amounts of methane ice on the water’s surface, something that is usually only found at great depths on the seabed. Other strange incidents are occurring in different regions of the world. While a fisherman in Peru is killed unexpectedly by a shoal of fish, off Vancouver Island in Canada, humpback whales and grey whales are keeping everyone waiting. When an orca is found dead on the beach, supposedly having recently attacked a fishing boat, young whale researcher Leon Anawak (Joshua Odjik) is worried. Finally, the whales return in large numbers. Leon immediately takes his boat out to sea. His good friend Lizzie (Elizabeth Kinnear) is also taking a trip in her excursion boat full of tourists. But no-one can imagine how the animals will behave (#101).  The episode was directed by Luke Watson and written by Steven Lally, Marissa Lestrade, Chris Lunt, and Michael A. Walker. TWO-HOUR MOVIE

KIRSTEN DUNST AND GABRIELLE UNION STAR IN THIS CLASSIC CHEER MOVIE – “Bring It On” is the hilarious tale of competing high school cheerleading squads. Torrance Shipman (Kirsten Dunst) is the team captain of national champs the Toros, whose dreams of winning nationals for a sixth year in a row quickly becomes a nightmare when she discovers that their former captain stole all their perfectly choreographed routines from the Clovers, a hip-hop inner-city cheer team, captained by Isis (Gabrielle Union). With the Clovers competing in nationals for the first time, Torrance must develop a completely new routine in order to win the national championship trophy and save the team’s reputation. The film also stars Eliza Dushku and Jesse Bradford. The film was written by Jessica Bendinger and directed by Peyton Reed.

 

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16

 

GREAT CHOCOLATE SHOWDOWN

Order up! The remaining five bakers must rise to the occasion as they bake chocolate bread and use it to make a dessert deli sandwich.
